When we are told that all those who are not part of the Church of the Lamb are part of the great and abominable church it does not mean that all those in the great and abominable church are intentional in their opposition to the Church of the Lamb. The saints must be intentional so being part of the Church of the Lamb can’t be done by default. On the other hand, those who coast or drift without direction will be swept up by the great and abominable church because they will not be awake enough to avoid her pull. They will effectively be fighting the Church of the Lamb but they are also open to being brought over to the Church of the Lamb when they start to see the truth. Some of them are like Saul of Tarsus and Alma the younger—they fight until they accept the light. Those who are part of the great and abominable church intentionally are much harder to persuade.
