Pondering on “the things of my soul” I have struggled to identify my the things but I feel I have identified one today (and a potential second is lurking in the back of my mind).
- Love God the Father and Jesus Christ, our Savior
- Love your neighbor
- Love yourself
- Keep the commandments
- Always be worthy of a temple recommend
- Be joyful and cheerful
- Follow God’s living prophet
- Leave things better than you found them
This speaks to the need for continued improvement—incremental improvement—and is broad enough to apply to: self improvement, cleaning up a campsite, being a positive part of a neighborhood, helping people be happier or healthier or more successful, and making the world a better place.
I should note that if “the things of my soul” is a hierarchy then it’s too early to guarantee that this stays as number 8 (even assuming that the 7 from Elder Rasband are immutable).
