She is ebullient when speaking about the miracles on her mission. How appropriate for Easter.
Expect miracles. Her mission president’s wife taught her that before President Nelson said it in this most recent conference. The story of the young woman who moved out of her parents house when she turned 18 in order to be able to get baptized is inspiring.
Sunday School
We started by singing the primary song “Gethsemane” and I finally understand in my heart the truth behind the statement from President Nelson in October conference of 2016:
“The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives. When the focus of our lives is on God’s plan of salvation…and Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening—or not happening—in our lives. Joy comes from and because of Him. He is the source of all joy.”
Russell M. Nelson (October 2016—Joy and Spiritual Survival)
Jesus gave His gift from Gethsemane to me and because of his gift, any pain or sorrow in my mind can be repaired and swallowed up. There is never a need for me to own and hold on to any pain regardless of the circumstances of my life. When I experience sorrow I can look to His Atonement to see how the source of the pain can/will eventually be corrected. Truly, “Joy comes from and because of Him. He is the source of all joy.”
Lots of tears in class today as people testified of the scriptures and music that anchor their testimonies of Christ.
“If he be the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross and we will believe him.”
Little did they know that He would come down from the cross (not like they meant) and live to stand in judgement of them and they would not believe Him.
After church I saw a video depicting Mary Magdalene finding the empty tomb and running to tell the disciples. It occurred to me that after seeing Jesus die and then seeing Him resurrected it would feel like anything was possible. When we have that testimony that He Lives we will feel that assistance that anything is possible.
