There is verity in the concept of the Lord release—that every seven years all debts among the people of Israel should be forgiven and that they should not be stingy in giving when those release years were coming soon. This law was to remain in effect until there were no poor among them. Also, when a servant was released after 6 years of service they should not be sent away empty-handed. It is like my desire that my children should we outfitted to get a start in life when they leave my house.
