In listening to Elder Kearon’s talk this morning I got to thinking about my children who have suffered abuse and deprivation in their lives and how they think and act like survivors even though the real hardship is in the rearview mirror. Now the real suffering comes from the poison that they keep injecting into our fragile culture thus creating the very thing they think they need to protect themselves from (and which their coping strategies don’t actually protect them from).
The worst offenders in continuing to poison the well are the five youngest.
