Practice holiness continually. Ask yourself in 3 situations on 3 different days “what would a holy young adult do?”
President Russell M. Nelson
Your spiritual education should be filled on an understanding of 3 truths: each of us will die; because of Christ, each of us will be resurrected and become immortal; judgement day is coming for each of us.
This life really is the time when you get to decide what kind of life that you want to live forever.
We really do use our time on earth to determine what kind of people we want to be based on the quality of law we are willing to obey.
3 fundamental truths to help you prepare to meet God:
- First, know the truth about who you are.
- You are a divine child of God. Has that truth rescued you from sin before?
- Son of God
- Son of the covenant
- Disciple of Christ
- Don’t let other labels replace that one in your life.
- I think “Dad” has replaced those too much for me.
- It’s no accident that he wants against political affiliation becoming your primary label.
- “Ageism, racism, nationalism, sexism and a host of other -isms are universally limiting.”
- “The adversary rejoices in labels because they divide us and restrict the way we think about ourselves and each other.”
- You are a divine child of God. Has that truth rescued you from sin before?
- Second, know the truth about what Heavenly Father and His Son have offered you.
- “He will lift you from your most excruciating circumstances in His own way and time.”
- Third, know the truth related to your conversion.
- “You must own your own conversion.”
- Do you want to feel peace about concerns that presently plague you?
- Do you want to know Jesus Christ better?
- Do you want to know how His divine power can heal your wounds and weaknesses?
- Do you want to experience the power of the Atonement in your life?
- Sincere questions asked in faith will always lead to greater faith and more knowledge.
- If people step away from the church continue to love them—it is not for you to judge them.
Mariah asked me during sacrament meeting if I was looking forward to having the day off tomorrow and (when I said no) why not. I told her it was impossible to look forward to staying in a home where I was surrounded by the evidence of the work that everyone was clamoring to avoid and surrounded by people who think of me like they think of air—mostly they don’t but when they do think of me they simply expect that I should be always available to meet their needs and wants.
