What of the Psalms?

I’m not entirely sure what to make of the Psalms. They seem to be a very elementary view of the gospel, more like a cheer than a sermon. They make no attempt at nuance or balance (balance such as the fact that righteousness does not protect against trials). That being said, they do illustrate the chosen attitude of those who are converted and firmly committed to God.
