I was wondering why Nauvoo kept going on about his parents being sick near into death while he was bound by Laman and Lemuel but then i realized it was part of a larger effort to show the reader all the things that had failed to sway his brothers from their course against him. That parents, Nephi’s wife and children, none of them could convince Laman and Lemuel to do the right thing.
