Pride among those in the church

I hear what Alma experienced as many in the church were lifted up in price because if their prosperity and it makes me wonder if/when we will see that in the modern church. My next thought is to wonder if we have seen it or are seeing it and I’m just not aware. Certainly there are prideful people asking the members of the church, but I have not been aware of the kind of pervasive or widespread pride that Alma describes.
