When Teancum killed Amalickiah he changed the dynamic of the war. That change in leadership meant that the neighbors could not depend on the Lamanites doing the same thing that they had done under the leadership of Amalickiah. When we make a change, even a positive one, we must be worse enough to recognize that there may be unanticipated repercussions that we will have to handle.
