Keep paying attention

It is easy to overlook but just because they considered their enemies did not mean that fighting stopped for the Lamanites. After utterly destroying the Nephites these people who had been steeped in war for decades didn’t simply stop fighting. Instead they fought fiercely among themselves because the problem wasn’t the neighbors, it was the wickedness (which didn’t diminish when the Nephites were gone).
