His father’s words

I wonder if Moroni wanted to give a more personal view of the spiritual side of his father than what had been included in the sacred record already. Up to this point Mormon had talked about his actions as a military leader but had only given a very high level overview of his work as a spiritual leader. Here Moroni shares words of doctrine directly from the prophet Mormon rather than a recitation of the works of commander Mormon.
