The words of Isaiah concerning the destiny of Babylon hold true of any nation which is lifted up in pride—especially those that have been instrumental in the work of the Lord to move His work forward and chasten His people. All such nations can expect to have their haughtiness and pride pulled down and their leaders laid low. They can expect their lands to be rendered desolate because of their wickedness when they are no longer serving the purposes of the Lord and to have their iniquities laid bare as their poor and downtown are freed from their oppression.
