Yesterday I talked about having 5 low-stakes social gatherings for the neighborhood in 5 different locations. I suggested 5 potential locations and noted 3 existing gatherings that we consistently do plus I suggested a couple of other locations/times. Today I saw a post on Facebook about a gathering I didn’t think to include yesterday — the annual neighborhood Easter egg hunt. I didn’t think about it because we have never participated because it is primarily aimed at kids younger than ours but it fits the criteria. It is held in the deep cul-de-sac (1520 N) at the end of March. I had suggested holding the chili cookoff in that location in August and I had recommended a March activity (unspecified) on 1300 N. If we take the Easter Egg hunt as it is we could move the August chili cookoff to 1300 N — which actually works because we could have the food set up at the end of 1020 E where 1300 N meets up. If we did that this would be our yearly cycle:
- Late March: Easter Egg Hunt @ 1520 N cul-de-sac
- May/June: summer fling/barbeque @ 1020 E
- August: back to school/chili @ 1300 N
- October: trunk or treat @ 1370 N
- December: Christmas @ 910 E
