I have been wanting to become consistent in turning to prayer but every effort so far has proved temporary at best. I was reading this morning the spirit that teacheth a man to pray and thinking again of what it would take to make prayer a habit as strong as reading the scriptures or brushing my teeth. I thought about those habits that I was able to make strong and realized that consistency of schedule and readiness of resources for the task were keys to being successful with both of those. As I thought about it I realized that a significant obstacle for prayer is that I have no place to comfortably pray. Even when I have identified a time that should work there is no place to retire. I thought the back of my closet would work but it’s not comfortable because of the rest of the closet, not least because Kylo is often resting on the vent where my feet rest if I kneel down.
I need to find or create a place where I can comfortably and consistently retire to pray.
