Home again

We had a smooth exit from the cabin with people pitching in to leave the place clean and get all our stuff into the car. We then went to Rock Reef Cafe for breakfast after how much we liked it for lunch yesterday. Breakfast didn’t disappoint and then we had a smooth drive home so that we had all afternoon to chill before conference. That gave me time to do the shipping we needed.

When we arrived home George and Kylo were a little wary, probably because of all the noise after 2 days of peace. Unfortunately Coup—who we had left outside on Wednesday because he refused to come in—didn’t come running when we tried to call him with treats. That didn’t really surprise me (I didn’t expect him to be watching and waiting for us) but it did leave room to fear that he might have decided to relocate. I prayed (especially for Bex’s sake) that he would return home quickly.

I stepped outside again (it was at least the 4th time) to try calling him again a couple of hours after we had arrived home and while I was facing West calling to him I heard a meow behind me and as I turned around I saw Coup on the deck behind me. (I assume he had come to wait under the grill as he often has before.) I took him to Bex so she could see that he was back and he ran into her room—I don’t think he had come out since then.

I’m grateful that my prayer was answered.
