A textbook day

Aside from Laura being such when she woke up (which required me to take the kids in to school) everything today was what I would consider the kind of day a normal person would have. I was able to get good things done at work, including having a very valuable meeting with the folks at Snyderville, as well as get my 11,000 steps in, help Ezra with his model rocket, and do family and couple scripture study.

In prayer this morning I was overwhelmed with a feeling of gratitude for the gift of my physical body. Also first thing this morning after I got to the office I accidentally spilled my cereal. I did a cursory job of cleaning it up only to find Melissa later on the ground getting it actually cleaned up. I thanked her for taking care of my mess. When I was studying a conference talk this evening it was Elder Rasband’s talk “Words Matter” and where he talks about using “thank you,” “I’m sorry,” and “I love you” liberally I realized that my expression of gratitude for Melissa this morning was a perfect example of using “thank you” and “I’m sorry” in ways that too often get overlooked. That was gratifying because I know I have not historically been particularly good at how often I use those phrases.
