Mormon picks up his abridgement of the large plates of Nephi (after inserting the unabridged small plates) by saying that after all the labor of king Benjamin to establish righteousness among the people of his kingdom he had continual peace all the remainder of his days. Prior to that in the Words of Mormon he mentions that Benjamin had had contentions among his people which he worked to establish righteousness among them with the help of other prophets and this took place about the same time as when Amaleki finished his record and delivered it to Benjamin.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Mormon had more fully covered that process of establishing righteousness among the people in the earlier part of abridging the large plates. If we had not lost that portion of the translation we might have had another (possibly more detailed) example of establishing righteousness akin 1) to what Melchizedek did in Salem; or 2) to what Alma the elder did among the people of Noah both before and after his followers were driven away; or 3) to what Limhi’s people did after they were brought into bondage by the Lamanites; or 4) to what Alma the younger did among the Nephites especially after stepping down from the judgement seat as he worked to restore them from falling into various wicked practices.
I personally suspect that the closest parallels to the story we have no detail on are cases 1 (that we also have no detail on) or 4 (that we have a good deal of detail on) but in any case I would have loved to have another detailed record of restoring righteousness among a people because we desperately need to accomplish that and we need as many examples to draw from as possible.
