I broke

This morning while trying to put a roast on to cook I finally couldn’t push myself to do more of trying to hold things together when I have no help in maintaining the basic livability of the household. I simply put the lid on the rust and walked away from the unusable kitchen. I spent my entire subsequent prayer lamenting the situation with the kitchen.

I still went to both the leadership meeting and the general session of stake conference but after conference I spent basically the rest of the day in isolation.

I saw a note in the relief society room: “how to we help people who are stuck in their Identity as victims to move on and move forward.” (Possibly not verbatim)

One suggestion was to schedule teacher council for parents for 5th Sundays that would allow for quarterly meetings.

What percentage of families in the ward are doing Come Follow Me at home? That’s an interesting question to ponder. That might be a foundational question for starting a Teacher Council for Parents (any age band)

James Evanson (Orem Mission President)
“Make a plan to: 1) pray daily; 2) connect with people weekly; 3) share the gospel monthly; 4) {someone} yearly”

Obviously as a mission president he is focused on missionary work but I LOVED that he included number 2, when do we talk about connecting with people as something we should deliberately plan to do. Usually we just assume that we do this naturally or that it will come to us.
