I think this can be captured in the term “self-righteous.” I also think that it’s most innocent form where we need to end it early is when we see children turning “smoking is bad for you” into “ew, he’s smoking.”
I think we need to see self-righteousness for the true spiritual danger it represents.
I see it in my children’s upside-down pride where radio against anything they see that seems to flaunt wealth.
