Ward walkabout

I was tempted to skip my journal for tonight based on some late conversations but I really wanted to record the beginning of a new thing the ward started today called the ward walkabout. Every Sunday until the weather gets too cold there will be a house who has volunteered to host as people in the ward can come socialize. I went to the first one today and enjoyed just chatting with several different people. I’m excited about the possibilities of getting to know people better.

Christ is the rock. We may be invited to build there but we have no claim of ownership on the Rick. Our foundation, on the other hand, is ours. It is the thing that we build whether we do so on the solid rock of Christ or on some less reliable foundation. To some extent we have the ability to move the foundation of what we have built although we will have to rebuild parts of it to match up with any new resting spot.

Ward walkabout: 6:30 on Sunday evenings while the weather is warm. I will definitely be there whenever possible. Hopefully Laura and our kids will come too. It is at the Dalton’s today.

David Newcomb and his wife are living across the street from us in the home Diane Allen just left. (I think she’s the one Laura was noticing the other day.)
