Today our testimony meeting was opened up (after Ben Dalton gave his testimony as part of conducting) by a woman who is not part of our ward and who said she was not an active member. That’s all fine but he’s testimony was a cryptic call for people to do their own research and avoid deception such as that which tripped up Adam and Eve. I half expected her to call on people to support Donald Trump. Once she was done she walked straight out the door of the chapel. I think people were stunned because nobody got up for a minute afterward.
I sat there thinking about what a proper response would be and a couple of people were clearly responding to her message when they got up but I think Brother Brinton, our stake patriarch, gave the perfect response when he got up about 5 minutes later and bout his testimony of the restored church and our living prophet in about 10 seconds. He didn’t even say anything in reference to what she had said, he simply reminded us of the foundation.
