The thing that Alma asked “may be called a resurrection” is really a preliminary judgement. There is no reuniting of the spirit and the body (resurrection) but merely a differentiation between those who were primarily good and earnest who find themselves in a state of peace and those who tried to get away with ignoring what they knew to be right who find themselves dreading the coming judgement.
