I see the pattern of these wars in our recent history. The Nephites were threatened by an external force and resisted it only to soon be threatened by an internal force. Zerahemnah and his armies attacked and were defeated similar to the United States being attacked by Osama Bin Laden who we eventually defeated. Not long after Zerahemnah was defeated, Amalickiah asking the neighbors seeking power over them. Not long after Bin Laden was killed Trump rose up seeking power. When Amalickiah could not gain the power through the voice of the people he stirred up his supporters to anger in order to try seizing power. When Trump could not continue in office because he lost the voice of the people he stirred up his supporters to anger to try to retain power and when that didn’t initially work he had continued denying the results and trying to keep people angry and afraid to return him to power.
