It seems that the Nephites never fully recovered from the schism of the king-men until the coming of Christ. Moroni put down the king-men but they still had contentions about who should lead such that the robbers of Gadianton were formed. They had many years without wars and without an open rebellion against the government but the people were still subject to price and the Gadiantons were operating in secret among them. I expect that is what we can expect now. Even if we defeat MAGA at the ballot box they will exist in the shadows plotting and scheming and recruiting. Even if they do we can build prosperity and righteousness among society despite their background operations. That is what we must always work for.
