I’m confident that Moroni would have killed the Lamanites around the city of Gid if they had awakened and fought while he was arming their prisoners. As much as he didn’t desire to kill, he wasn’t afraid to do so. The key that he understood was that it was important to value every life, even those of his enemies in time of war.
