Take prompt action

As soon as Jesus had departed the people began to exert themselves. They did not rest up to wait for his return but dispersed to gather others so that they could share in His next arrival. Rest is important. Downtime is important. But sometimes we have to stretch ourselves and expend our energy to accomplish something within a constrained time. That’s why I am currently limiting my public advocacy for the next 4 weeks (like the last 5) to presidential politics. I have plenty to say beyond this particular campaign but very little of it needs to have whatever effect it can have within that timeframe.

I never considered before that prior to Jesus’ arrival on the second day was the Western hemisphere equivalent of the day of Pentecost. The Christmas disciples divided then people among themselves and each taught the words of Christ. They also received the Holy Ghost as had been both promised and desired.
