- “Take no thought for the morrow…”
- As I think about trying not to get sucked into dwelling on politics this thought above occurs to me.
- The apostles are told to take no thought for their material needs because they have been called to something that demands their undivided attention elsewhere.
- The Lord does expect people generally to take thought and expend effort in getting their material needs met.
- Does this apply to other things?
- Where is the dividing line?
- “Be strong in the Lord…take unto you the whole armor of God…and having done all, to stand.” (See Ephesians 6:10-17)
- “Fear ye not. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord…The Lord shall fight for you and ye shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:13-14)
- “Let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.” (Doctrine and Covenants 123:17)
