The New Covenant

The thing the Nephites were not ready to receive on the first day of Jesus’ appearance was the details of the covenant that was now in place with the fulfilling of the law of Moses. They were not prepared at that time—before receiving the Holy Ghost and hearing Him pray for them—to hear that while He promised then the land for their inheritance the first part of the promise was that the gentle would be raised up and given the opportunity to receive the gospel and that Israel would be redeemed after the gentiles had been prospered in the land. The promise was that Israel would go through among the gentiles who rejected the covenant (after they had been blessed and prospered with knowledge of the gospel and with material success) and then be established in the land to receive their blessings.

When everything has been accomplished all people who were faithful, regardless of where they originated, will sing together in praise of the Messenger of Peace. “With the voice together shall they sing.”
