Mormon talks about a war followed by four years of peace leading into more war. He also talks about the Gadiantons in the land during that time and it makes me wonder about the 4 years of peace. Was that 4 years without open warfare but with rampant wickedness and deception which were degrading the minds of the people? If so I would imagine it was like our last four years where we had a reasonable government and we weathered some heavy storms (pandemic, inflation) but we were also being actively lied to the entire time normalizing the unconscionable and misrepresenting the actual facts about our current success.
