Different ways of administration

I’ve never really thought about this phrase from Moroni: “there are different ways that these gifts are administered.” I had written it off as a way of saying that the various gifts were different but that’s really not it. It means that there are different avenues for the gifts to be bestowed. The gift of tongues for example could be a flash of divine power where someone is suddenly and temporarily able to communicate in a foreign language or it could be a missionary who studies in the MTC and comes to grasp the language of their mission or it could be someone who lives languages and studies them out of interest. The first of those always looks like a gift from God, the second is often hailed as a gift by members of the church, and the third is rarely thought of as a gift but those are three ways of administering the same gift.
