Mickey wasn’t feeling good at work today (headache, hard time balancing, confusion) and asked me to pick her up after half the workday. We decided to try Teledoc and they told her to go to urgent care. I took her to urgent care after work (when I heard about the recommendation) and they sent her to the ER where they could do things like CT scans to try to identify the problem. After blood work, a urine sample, an EKG, and a CT scan, the ER doctor said he thought it was what they call complex migraines and recommended that she see a neurologist to nail it down and decide how to proceed because complex migraine and micro seizures look the same as far as the scans can tell so it requires a specialist to be sure about the diagnosis.
By the time it was over we had been at the hospital for nearly 3 hours out of my evening.
