We kept Ezra home from school Tuesday and Wednesday to ensure that he didn’t have to deal with the aggressive boys who kept wanting to fight him until we had talked with the school. WE let him go yesterday because we were talking to the school that morning and I felt good about where we were after the meeting. Today we found out how critical that was when we learned that Jack was taken into custody from the school bus this morning because he took a knife from home to confront Ezra at school. His dad noticed the knife missing and called the police. We’re told that Jack tried to run away from the police when they pulled the bus over.
We also learned that Jack is living with at least his third family (we heard adoption but that sounds more like foster care) and that just makes me sad for him. I hope he can get the support he needs to deal with his aggression (and undoubtedly insecurity too).
