Sister Preece made the comment that it’s hard to love people that we don’t know. She went on to point out that Christ paid the price to know each of us perfectly so He is able to love us perfectly.
I would add that it’s usually hard not to love anyone that we really know. If you struggle to love someone the best way to fix that is to get to know them better.
We also talked about the worth of souls. Someone said that something is worth what you pay for it. This suggests that the worth of souls is great because of the price Jesus paid. That’s backwards. Souls were of great worth, even priceless, before Christ paid that price and they would have had that same worth if He had failed His mission. Christ paid that price because of how much He valued each soul, not because their value depended on the price He (or His Father) was willing to pay.
