If thou shalt ask, thou shalt receive revelation upon revelation, knowledge upon knowledge, that thou mayest know the mysteries and peaceable things—that which bringeth joy, that which bringeth life eternal.
Doctrine & Covenants 42:61
The reason that the Lord promises revelation and knowledge is to teach “the mysteries and peaceable things” but I like how those are defined her as “that which bringeth joy, that which bringeth life eternal.”
It seems that not many have the faith to be miraculously healed but the Lord clearly teaches that in those cases we are to gently nourish them and bear their infirmities with patience.
Chastisement for offense or iniquity should be as public as the iniquity. In other words, we don’t spread knowledge about someone’s sins further in their repentance than it was in their offense but at the same time, their acknowledgement should be as broad and public as their offense.
