Behold, I say unto you, there were jarrings, and contentions, and envyings, and strifes, and lustful and covetous desires among them; therefore by these things they polluted their inheritances.

We definitely have contentions, envyings, and strifes polluting our home. It’s no wonder that it isn’t a haven of peace. We must build a sanctuary from worldly influences.
In the day of their peace they esteemed lightly my counsel; but, in the day of their trouble, of necessity they feel after me.
Doctrine & Covenants 101:8
My kids don’t feel after us or righteousness in the day of their trouble, in fact, they don’t even recognize actual trouble.
