Multi-Stake Conference

This was for 65 stakes in Davis County. That includes 223,000 members.

President Uchtdorf and Elder Holland were sitting next to their wives. I noticed both couples holding hands.

When will Davis County receive a second temple? I have a feeling that day will come (perhaps in the western areas of Farmington).

Elder Shayne M. Bowen

Sometimes we are so scared to share the gospel that we unwittingly lose many children of God.

“I don’t believe that we have any less active or inactive families in the church. We only have those who do not understand the doctrine of the Atonement.”

This story sounds demographically like us and the Blacks.

The secret to a good family night is the refreshment (we need to focus on this).

If we feel comfortable in our temples here on earth we will feel comfortable in the celestial kingdom.

I need to write to Jason and reconnect.

Sister Linda K. Burton

We can pitch our tents spiritually close to the temple.

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

I didn’t realize that the Hollands lived in Davis County for over 20 years. They left a few years ago (perhaps 10) to be closer to the church office building because of age.

Do conferences make a difference in our lives?

“The eternal challenge is real growth…real change.”

If we can raise Alyssa to be a strong member of the church and a well adjusted adult then we are able to reach and help any person.

What can we do to make our church experiences mean something more in our lives?

What actual change have I made in my own life as a result of ANYTHING I heard or was asked to do in the most recent general conference?

Review President Uchtdorf’s talk from conference.

Is it possible that those who will not hear the words of a prophet are no better than those who cannot hear the words of a prophet.

We really are gods and goddesses in embryo but those embryos are supposed to mature.

If we fail to listen to the living prophet it will be at our peril and we are no better off than those who have no prophet.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Let us not fall into the trap of taking breaks from church on the week of stake conference. Stake conferences are assigned under the direction of the quorum of the twelve. The stake president receives a letter from President Packer with those assignments.

Conquer the angry man with love. Conquer the {mean} man with kindness. Conquer the miser with generosity. Conquer the liar with truth.

Davis County currently has 2500 young missionaries serving. President Uchtdorf is calling for more missionaries.

He asks young men to study chapter three of Preach My Gospel and to each become their own first convert.

Just because the church is a majority of our neighborhoods does. It mean that everyone around us knows about the gospel. We should never talk down to anyone.

The sign on our chapels, “visitors welcome,” needs to be reflected in our lives.

Speaking of longtime members who do not come to church—do not judge them, just love them.

Don’t forget the widows or single adults (with or without children).

Participation in the church is not just attending some specific meetings but internalizing and practicing the teachings.

We need to set goals based on the outcomes we wish to achieve.

We should have financial and other goals but above all we need spiritual goals.

All of the commandments are about faith more than about the specific area affected by the command.

With our choices come consequences.

We should not turn a blind eye to bullying. (How much worse would it be to participate or initiate bullying.)

Whether our bullying is loud and aggressive or quiet and passive it tears at the foundations of our society.

God Loveth His Children is a booklet that deals with SSA.

Some answers related to SSA must wait until the next life but until then the truth is that God loveth His children.
