“Take My yolk upon you”

When Christ invites us to take His yolk upon us rather than offering to join us in our yolk it is because by taking His yolk upon us it causes us to go where He is going, to do what He is doing, and to focus on the load that He considers worth bearing rather than having Him change to go our way and focus on whatever things we have taken upon ourselves that shouldn’t be carried.

If we define being a Christian based on belief in tenets of the Nicean Creed wouldn’t that be called a Nicean Christian? Those who seek to follow first century Christianity would have to consider that creed to be less than binding. Christianity would have to be defined by the teachings and example of Christ. By that definition Mormons are as able to claim the title of “Christian” as anyone else.
