In seeking to identify the patterns of righteous father’s I read of Lehi, Alma, Alma the younger, Helaman (the father of Nephi and Lehi, not the son of Alma), and Mormon.
Consistently these father’s set a good example for their children and taught them the doctrine. They encouraged them in righteousness and admonished then when they were wicked. They prayed for their children when they couldn’t otherwise reach them, and they set supports and reminders (like the names of Nephi and Lehi) that could perpetually encourage and remind their children to follow righteousness.
