Avoid the appearance of evil

There is no sin in doing what may appear to the untrained to be sin unless there is a chance that doing so will bruise the testimony of someone who thinks it is a sin. In other words, even if you know it is okay you should avoid doing something if you also know that it will confuse someone else or lead them away from righteousness.
