Symbols in the order of importance

I think the order that the symbols in Lehi’s dream were introduced indicates the importance of the various aspects. The tree of life was first, the dangerous river second. Next came the rod of iron along the strait and narrow path followed by the mists of darkness and the gear and spacious building which led people away from the safety of the path and the tree.
