Understanding

“Seek first to understand then to be understood.” – Steven Covey

If we don’t understand those we seek to communicate with it is only by chance that we may be able to communicate accurately.

When Brother Smith read the words from Elder Holland’s April 2007 talk that, “Sisters, there is no place in that magnificent spirit of yours for acerbic or abrasive expression of any kind, including gossip or backbiting or catty remarks,” I was happy to note that even when things she says are hurtful, Laura doesn’t say things that fall into any of those categories. Her problem is more of speaking without first understanding not than anything else.

Faith has a half-life – similar to medications. – President Jackson

Counsel with our wives, study scriptures together, pray together. Be fiercely loyal to them. Do we display that loyalty. LEAD!!! Don’t leave her to steer her own ship.
