Fast or slow

I can’t decide if this sequence of events unfolded as it did because the Nephites were fast to receive, accept, settle, and provide protection to the people of Ammon or if it came about because the Lamanites were slow to prepare and follow the people of Ammon toward the city of Zerahemla.
