I realized tonight that the real parenting wins are the ones that look utterly unspectacular. For example, tonight I got to chat with Mariah as she made a couple of tortillas with meat and cheese since we didn’t really have a proper dinner. It would look pretty much like a normal conversation but it built a nice understanding between the two of us that will expand the foundation of trust that makes successful parenting possible.
