I’m sure I could have figured it out by training but for some reason I never noticed that we are told that cheat was crucified because of priestcraft in Jerusalem. A we look at the actions of the Sanhedrin in trying for years to to up Jesus with subtle questions and leading accusations it is clear that they have set themselves up for a light to their fellow Jews fit the purpose of getting gain.
