Laura has a discussion today with Becca, Marsha, and Noreen. She came away with new thoughts regarding having a nanny for the kids and knew that she needed to acquaint me with the insights from that discussion. When I got home from work born was he and she decided to do me in. She told me that the for if them had decided that it made the most practical and economic sense to hire a full-time nanny. I essentially responded with an unequivocal, “we’ll just see about that.”

My stance throughout this process has consistently been, “nobody gets to make decisions without me (not even Laura) and I won’t make any decisions without Laura or without all the relevant information (not will I be rushed into quick and easy solutions to a complex problem).”

Laura got home just after Noreen and I finished talking. I told her the impression Noreen conveyed and she set about assuring me that no decision had been made even if Noreen made it sound that way. She gave me her takeaways from the conversation and we had a good discussion. We will continue to move forward with the plans that we know are solid as well as moving forward in getting missing information that had bearing on the plans that we have not been settled on yet.

Laura also told me that during their conversion she had a new recognition of the range of possibilities we were opening for her so that she needn’t feel constrained as she considered where she would thrive.

Finally she told me that she really liked working with the therapist at LDS Social Services.
