Laura came to church today. I brought her up without telling the kids and she sat separately in sacrament meeting (so as not to be overwhelmed by clamoring kids). After church I took her back down and later Emma and Isaac each got visits with her. In the evening I talked to her to share my vision of what healed Laura would look like. She loved my vision but then devolved into “why” questions. Her concern eventually resolved with the realization that her situation was akin to the man born blind, not because of his sin or that of his parents but so that the works of God might be made manifest.
Notes
The still small voice is very impactful when we receive it but it is small so that it is usually easy to ignore or fail to recognize if we aren’t willing to receive it.
Carol Eyring said that she often has ideas first thing in the morning (the mind) and as she goes through the day some of those ideas start to feel very silly while others feel very crucial (the heart) so that given some time it becomes apparent which idea are from the Spirit and which are just an active mind.
