Brigham Young told the saints at conference when he heard about the Willie and Martin handcart companies that they would never save one soul unless the practiced what he was about to preach. His sermon was to rescue those saints.
That came to mind this morning when I woke up to find a text from Mom asking for someone to rescue her because her hands could no longer function to paint and she needed to finish painting before the carpet could be laid again in that room. I chose to take everyone to help rather than focus on general conference. We still got to listen to the bulk of the first session after we applied one coat of paint. This began a very busy day as I also had to fit a trip to the dentist in because one of Alyssa’s braces popped off her tooth in the night. At the end of the day I am physically tired and emotionally spent.
