Tired

Laura seems to be doing better today. She didn’t feel good at first and when I invited her to go with me to get donuts she declined but she called me back after concluding that the only reason she declined was that she was depressed. After our little trip she seemed better.

After breakfast I drove to Ellie’s house to pick up Alyssa. On the way home we got stuck on traffic right shortly after a major crash; that delayed is for at least 40 minutes. Upon arriving home I talked to the girls (and after retrieving Isaac from Laura’s place he joined the discussion) about what was required to have a functional house and about the fact that we have enough resources within the family to be functional but only if everyone contributes. I also told them that if everyone contributes we have a little bit of resource to spare for extras.

Late in that discussion I began to get very tired. The kids played with bunnies while I slowly tried to finish the conversation. Laura asked if I wanted her to help with or do the shopping. I asked her to do it and she took Mariah and Emma with her for 5 hours which allowed me to get the house in order with the other girls. I’m grateful for Laura’s help and she has offered to generally do the shopping. It was a good, long, tiring day.
