After a largely successful day at church, where Mariah performed beautifully in sacrament meeting (singing solo with a flute to accompany her) we took off for Isaac to go be in the park of totality for the eclipse tomorrow. Everything so far has been almost flawless. We got a massive, enclosed campsite. We got to still use the space that was reserved for us and the Jacobson’s despite the fact that the Jacobson’s didn’t come (Kim told us last night that she felt that they should go to where her were for the event and we encouraged her to follow that feeling). The drive was comfortable and the planning had no major oversights. We’ve had a terrific evening and are looking forward to a great experience. Hopefully we don’t have to deal with traffic being too much worse than today (which really wasn’t bad as far as we came).
